Vision: Beth Skogen captures and illustrates the world through visual complexities that are often overlooked. She photographs people at various stages in life to reveal the subtle and complex relationships between individuals and groups. Whether she is documenting the birth of a child, marching band or her blended family, her images characterize everyday social interaction.
Biography: Beth earned a BA in Journalism and a BFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography from the University of Iowa in 2008. She worked at the award-winning university newspaper, The Daily Iowan, for two years where she grew as a photographer and fell in love with documenting life and photographing people. After graduation, she accepted an internship at VII Photo Agency in New York and then with Lauren Greenfield in California. She is now back in her hometown working as a freelance photographer in Madison, Wisconsin.
